Statement
Usually, I have three screens glowing in front of me as a digital creator of picture books for children. Music plays in the background. The delivery method of this art form has changed along with the array of media I have used throughout my career to create art.
In my studio, albums lined my shelves, CDs stacked to form a clever sculpture, yet my cassettes rested hidden in an old tin and a drawer, occasionally played on an old boom box. These tapes are the vessels of the memories of my youth, of parties with friends, lost relationships, love found, and songs that conjure the happy and sad memories of a lifetime and music's role in the human condition. As a collage artist, I want to pay homage to these objects and create works of remembrance. I hope this piece inspires others to develop a visual soundtrack for their lives, or I would be honored to make a unique work of art upon request.
